We believe positive change happens within community. By understanding what sits behind behaviours of concern, we work with you, your family, and your support network to create practical strategies that build confidence, strengthen relationships, and support a life of connection and belonging.
Our Positive Behaviour Support Services

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an evidence-based, person-centred framework used within the NDIS to understand the function of behaviour and to promote safe, meaningful participation in daily life. At Kama Care, we work collaboratively with you, your family, and your support network to identify why behaviours of concern occur and to develop practical, least restrictive strategies that improve quality of life.
Our practitioners complete a comprehensive assessment that considers the whole person, their strengths, communication needs, routines, environment, cultural context, and support relationships. Using this information, we develop an individualised Behaviour Support Plan focused on:
• Prevention and early intervention
Adjusting environments, routines, and supports to reduce triggers and increase predictability.
• Skill development
Building communication, emotional regulation, daily living, and social skills that support safer and more effective ways to express needs.
• Positive and proactive strategies
Strengthening what works well, promoting independence, and reducing the need for restrictive practices.
• Capacity building for support networks

Providing training, coaching, and guidance for families, carers, and support workers to ensure consistent, safe, and confident implementation.
Our goal is to support positive change, reduce behaviours of concern, and enhance participation, wellbeing, and connection across home, community, and everyday life.
